ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is KC, the founder of CaffeineDojo.com – a millennial, weekday engineer, and weekend coffee enthusiast. As with most people in their childhood years, I never did understand why people consume coffee. Coffee’s bitter-tasting profile is very much like to herbal medicine that I used to take due to asthma and I avoided it like a plague. Going into my teenage years, coffee became the cool thing to drink compared to Milo – a.k.a. the hot chocolaty malt drink and that is the beginning of my fascination with coffee.
Progressing from sugar-loaded instant coffee to black coffee with sugar and finally plunged into the rabbit hole of specialty coffee. Curiosity has led me to take up an internship at a coffee production factory. On top of that, I work as a part-time barista to learn all I can about coffee. Today, I am an active home brewer and I’ve always wanted a space to share what I love and hence the birth of this blog.
About The Blog
Dojo sounds like a place for immersive learning – a place for a master to deliver their knowledge to dedicated disciples. Pretty shameless but I have to say that my knowledge about coffee is nowhere near professional levels nor am I in any position to give professional advice; I’m just another regular person that has an interest about coffee. However, ever since my first encounter with specialty coffee, it piques my curiosity and I’ve been reading about it ever since.
To some people its just some liquid they take to get them through the day, while others have dedicated their whole life to it. It would be interesting to look at it from both sides of the spectrum. So, I’ve started this blog to document things that I’ve learnt and discovered along the way and share it world.
So I hope through this blog, someone out there learn a thing or two and change their perspective towards coffee.
What’s Next?
Okay, I intend to start with basics and cover the grounds on what coffee is fundamentally post by post and slowly dive into the nitty gritty of the coffee universe. I’m not sure what the end game is but feel free to tag along this journey of mine. Also, if something that I’ve shared throughout this blog isn’t right, do reach out to me! After all, I’m here to learn as well.
